World Social Work Day
March 19, 2019 in Chelmsford
The Chelmsford Social Work Team are delighted to be hosting an event for World Social Work Day. This year the theme is ‘Community’.
We will be joined by Reverend Rose Hudson-Wilkin - Chaplain to the Speaker of the House of Commons, priest vicar at Westminster Abbey and chaplain to the Queen. Although the talk will be non-denominational in tone, Rose will draw on her experience of her parish in Hackney and the impact of knife crime on her community.
We will then be joined by some ARU success stories - our graduates who have gone on to work in the field of knife crime and gangs. Here the tone will be drawing on the incredible strength and resilience within communities and the role of social work in communities.
As well as our key speakers, we will often break out into smaller workshops, as there will be a wealth of knowledge and experience within the room.
Refreshments will be provided.
The event is open to students, practising social workers, practice educators. Following attendance, we can provide a certificate to evidence CPD.
We look forward to seeing you in March and coming together as a social work community!
