We are delighted that the authors have agreed we may share this important paper that deals with the knotty issue of how we use attachment theory and introduces the theory of recognition. Recognition has considerable relevance for how we create and develop meaningful relationships with children in care but also with other users of social work. Many thanks to Mark, Claire and Daniela for their extremely useful perspectives and contribution to social work policy, theory and practice.
The renewed interest in relationship-based practice can be understood in the child care social work context as a response to the call to re-focus practice in this field.
